About PROMINENT

Fashion, culture and the people making them

PROMINENT is a London magazine covering fashion, beauty, people and cultural life. Runway reports, designer interviews, jewellery, exhibitions and film share the same pages. London is a recurring point of reference, with coverage that also follows designers and events in other cities and the international connections between them.

The magazine is for readers who want to know what a collection contains, who made it and what informed the work. A show report can introduce a new label; a conversation can follow the ideas behind the clothes. Event previews offer another way into the people, places and programmes covered in the archive.

Collections and conversations

Fashion coverage includes London Fashion Week, Fashion Scout, London Fashion Day and international showcases. The archive follows emerging designers alongside established names, with attention to collections, materials, craft and the cultural references behind a season. Jewellery and beauty sit within that wider view of personal style, from new collections to fragrance and product stories.

Recent reporting has followed Global Fashion Collective in London and New York, including designers working across crochet, tailoring, couture and cultural craft. In conversation with MUR MUR founder Anastasia Baukh, the magazine explored the move from BAUKH to a new label, the influence of Odesa and the relationship between clothing and the woman wearing it.

Beyond the runway

Culture coverage moves between cinema, exhibitions, performance and the people shaping those programmes. Stories have included the BFI London Film Festival and its Industry Forum, as well as the Royal Academy of Arts. These subjects sit alongside fashion because design, visual culture and the wider creative industries often meet in the same work.

International coverage includes Ukrainian fashion and cultural projects, with reports from Odessa Fashion Day and its SUMMER WEEKEND programme in Odesa. The archive places those stories alongside London events and designers presenting across borders. A city, a collection or a creative practice can be the starting point for finding a different part of the magazine.

London as a starting point

London’s fashion calendar brings different scales of work into view: a young label’s first presentation, a collective showcase, a designer returning with a new season and a wider conversation about how clothes are made. The magazine’s archive follows Fashion Scout, London Fashion Day and Fashion Week & The City alongside individual collections. Those reports provide routes into designers who may be appearing in London while working, making and drawing on experience elsewhere.

A collection’s name and season matter. So do its materials, techniques and references. Coverage of Ginny Litscher’s TRIBE, Sanyukta Shrestha’s Continuum and MAD DAISY’s Lumière de Guillaumin shows how identity, the body and art can become different starting points for design. The collection pages bring those stories together, while each full article keeps the context of the original report.

Jewellery, beauty and personal style

Fashion & Beauty extends from the runway to the objects and choices that form a personal wardrobe. The archive includes Octi’s Ammonite collection, the colour and craft of Après Youth, Ella Stein’s approach to demi-fine jewellery and the Portuguese goldsmith heritage of Arte Nova Jewellery. Alongside collection news, beauty stories offer another point of entry into the magazine’s interest in style and self-presentation.

People coverage gives space to the individual behind a public role: a designer describing a label, a creative practitioner explaining a process or a profile following a new collaboration. The subject may cross several desks. Jewellery can lead to a conversation about the wearer, while an event can introduce a person whose work is explored elsewhere in the archive.

Find your way through the magazine

Start with the latest stories, browse a desk or search for a designer, house, collection, city or event. Fashion & Beauty brings together collections and style coverage; People opens onto interviews and profiles. Events, World and Lifestyle offer other routes into the archive. Publication dates help place an announcement or show report in its original season.
