EILATAN on Vulnerability, Power, and Becoming “Like a Queen, Like a Winner”

In an era dominated by curated perfection, EILATAN stands out for something increasingly rare: sincerity.
At 22, the Manchester-based artist is carving a space within UK alternative pop-rock where emotion is not hidden, but transformed.

Her latest single, “Like a Queen, Like a Winner,” introduces a figure who is tender and sharp, cinematic and grounded — a reflection of the artist herself. We spoke to EILATAN about mental health, confidence, and learning to trust her voice.

Q: Music entered your life at a very young and vulnerable moment. How did that shape you?
A: I was sixteen and dealing with depression. Music was one of the only things that helped. Writing songs wasn’t a choice — it was something I needed.

Q: What changed between those first songs and who you are now?
A: Time. It took about three years before I truly believed in my voice. I had to grow into myself as an artist.

Q: Your music feels very visual. Is that intentional?
A: Yes. My songs are like little movies. I care about atmosphere, imagery, mood — everything working together emotionally.

Q: How would you describe your sound to someone hearing you for the first time?
A: Alternative pop-rock with soft vocals and a lot of emotion. Dark but hopeful. Inspired by Lana Del Rey and Kurt Cobain.

Q: What does “Like a Queen, Like a Winner” represent for you personally?
A: Self-permission. Allowing yourself to be contradictory. Powerful without being loud.

Q: Your lyrics touch on rebellion, danger, glamour — but also vulnerability. Why that mix?
A: Because that’s real life. Strength doesn’t cancel softness. They exist together.

Q: How did winning at the Radio Wigwam Awards affect you?
A: It gave me confidence. It showed me that people connect with honesty.

Q: Why do you think your music resonates with young listeners?
A: Because it’s not perfect. It’s emotional. I write for people who feel deeply and quietly.

Q: What does success look like for you now?
A: Performing for my own audience. Having my music heard. Choosing hope over fear.

Q: A message to those discovering your music now?
A: Stay tuned. This is just the beginning.
