Naomi Hart Presented AW26 “The Sovereignty of Stillness” at London Fashion Week with Fashion Scout
Designer Naomi Hart presented her AW26 collection, “The Sovereignty of Stillness,” at London Fashion Week with Fashion Scout, centring the show on the value of presence over performance. Drawing on movement in nature, Hart explored the quiet dialogue between motion and pause, referencing the flight of birds, the slow swing of a hammock, and the gentle dip of a willow tree into water.
For AW26, Hart framed stillness as a form of strength, using the collection as commentary on the constant visibility of modern life and what it has done to style and self-identity. The garments were designed not to demand attention, but to lead the viewer toward calm—finding meaning in quiet detail rather than spectacle.
Warm, earth-toned palettes and natural materials including wool, pony-hair and suede shaped the collection’s grounded aesthetic, while sartorial construction reinforced a calm but assured design language. The show also read as a meditation on authenticity in an age of curated identities and digital alter egos, with Hart positioning stillness as a route back to the “real self.”
Hart founded her independent conceptual womenswear label in 2023 and quickly established a signature through bold artistic expression and a distinctive approach to shape, colour and fabric. A London College of Fashion graduate, she drew on an upbringing in the British countryside, where close ties to nature informed her creative outlook. She also referenced early interests and artistic influences shaped by growing up around her father’s creative practice.
Across AW26, Hart balanced expressive silhouettes with considered construction, developing each piece with attention to form and utility. Creative pattern cutting functioned as a key tool to translate personal influence into garment architecture. All pieces were handmade through a small-scale production process prioritising longevity over volume. Alongside made-to-order work, selected designs were offered for rental, supporting circular fashion and a more responsible model of ownership.
