Headline:Dreaming Eli presents ‘Dreamers in Exile’ for Spring/Summer 2027

Dreaming Eli has unveiled its Spring/Summer 2027 collection, Dreamers in Exile, exploring the distance between childhood dreams and adult reality through memory, displacement and personal transformation. Sicily and London form the two geographical and emotional poles of the collection, tracing a journey from an idealised past towards the uncertainty and intensity of adulthood.

Founded by Elisa Trombatore, Dreaming Eli begins the season with memories of childhood, family and home. Sicily appears through inherited traditions, old photographs and domestic objects, establishing a visual language shaped by familiarity but also by the boundaries that tradition can create. Rather than treating memory as something static, the collection considers what remains when a person moves beyond the place and identity that first formed them.

London represents the next stage of that journey. Its speed, ambition and nightlife provide the setting for transformation, as the dreamer becomes a wanderer and familiar identities begin to shift. Tattoos and scars become references for experience, loss and survival, while individual characters within the collection represent stages including innocence, desire, disillusionment, resistance and renewal.

The tension between imagination and lived experience also informs the construction of the clothes. Dreaming Eli expands its established distressing techniques through manipulated silks, layered cotton and gauze, using a seasonal palette of blush, rose and white contrasted with black. Fabrics are broken apart, layered and reconstructed, echoing the collection’s broader idea of identity being carried forward in fragments and repeatedly reshaped.

Hand painting returns from the previous season and is developed across embellished surfaces intended to evoke old photographs assembled into collages. Ruffles and pearls add another layer to this treatment, while screen printing appears as a new seasonal technique. Decorative references draw on Baroque Sicilian churches alongside tattoo motifs described by the brand as tribal-inspired.

Denim, lace and vinyl are also pushed into new combinations. The vinyl technique introduced last season is used with denim and lace to create a leather-like effect, while sections of lace are cut and distressed to reveal the materials beneath. The resulting surfaces expose their own construction, reinforcing the collection’s recurring movement between concealment and revelation.

For Spring/Summer 2027, Dreaming Eli also broadens its product offering with jackets and lingerie-inspired pieces alongside the label’s established design signatures. The brand describes Dreamers in Exile as its most complete collection to date, bringing a wider range of categories into the same narrative of memory and reinvention.

Accessories continue that development. The Wild Hearts Bleed Platform Heels return with an updated satin finish and new blush and rose colourways alongside the existing core colours. The New Pearl 3D bag range has also been refined for the season. The bags are created and 3D printed in partnership with Harry Mack and engineered by experiential production studio Unit9.

Trombatore founded Dreaming Eli in 2021 after completing her MA at Central Saint Martins, where she was supported by the Isabella Blow Foundation. The label’s work centres on contradictions within femininity, examining ideas of power, vulnerability, danger and beauty. Its designs have previously been worn by Kylie Jenner, Tate McRae, Zara Larsson and Munroe Bergdorf.

With Dreamers in Exile, Dreaming Eli places those contradictions within a broader story of migration between past and present. Childhood, home, the city and the body become interconnected records of change, with the collection presenting identity not as something left behind or preserved intact, but as something continually reconstructed through experience.
