Freya Rose London Collaborates with Turquoise Mountain to Empower Afghan Artisans

British luxury designer Freya Rose unveils a moving new jewellery collaboration with the charity Turquoise Mountain, bringing Afghan women’s craftsmanship to the global stage while preserving ancestral artistry for the future.

This partnership blends Freya Rose’s signature artisanal identity with centuries-old Afghan jewellery traditions, creating pieces that carry both cultural symbolism and modern elegance.

Founded in 2006 by His Majesty King Charles III, Turquoise Mountain has been instrumental in reviving traditional craft communities across the Middle East and South Asia. For Freya Rose, the collaboration holds a personal meaning: her business journey was supported by The King’s Trust, also founded by King Charles, where she now serves as an ambassador for the Change A Girl’s Life initiative.

Drawing inspiration from Afghanistan’s architectural motifs and storytelling heritage, each piece in the collection is meticulously handcrafted by female artisans working in safe studios supported by Turquoise Mountain. The work preserves delicate filigree metalwork techniques — lace-like artistry practised for generations across Central and South Asia — now reinterpreted through a contemporary design lens. Crafted in 18ct gold-plated sterling silver, the collection speaks of resilience, meaning, and timeless beauty.

At its core, the collaboration reflects Freya Rose’s philosophy of slow fashion and her commitment to safeguarding heritage artistry. Each piece balances ancestral craft with refined luxury, becoming more than an accessory — a story of empowerment, continuity, and human connection.

“This collaboration represents everything Freya Rose stands for: empowerment through craftsmanship, beauty through meaning, and a celebration of the human stories behind every creation,” explains the designer.

Launching officially on 19 September 2025, with previews available from June, the collection stands as a testament to the transformative power of design to connect cultures and uplift women. It is not simply jewellery, but a bridge between past and future, artistry and identity.
