Maharishi Debuts New Collection Blending East and West with Eco-Friendly Innovation
Maharishi introduces its newest collection, seamlessly merging Eastern and Western inspirations to craft garments that offer utility through advanced functional features. Committed to environmental respect, the brand incorporates eco-friendly fabrics throughout the lineup.
The “Everything is Recorded” capsule showcases artwork from “Temporary,” the latest album by Richard Russell’s musical collective under XL Recordings, featuring visuals by Maharishi’s Founder and Creative Director, Hardy Blechman. This artwork is intertwined with Maharishi’s interpretation of Frederik De Wit’s Planisphæri Cœleste—a 17th-century celestial map depicting stars and zodiac constellations—and is applied to signature MA1 flight jackets, organic cotton sweatshirts, tees, and accessories.
De Wit’s influence extends to the Celeste capsule, which delves deeper into the historical role of the zodiac in navigation by reimagining his original planisphere through a minimalist lens. This collection introduces the new signature DPM: Bonsai Constellation, aligning with Maharishi’s renowned exploration of camouflage artistry.
Continuing its annual celebration of the Lunar New Year, the collection features “Year of the Snake” artwork and includes collaborations with guest artists such as Jean-Michel Basquiat, Kay One, Keo-X-Men, TEACH, and Toby Ziegler.
Duality emerges as a central theme, highlighted by Yin-Yang-inspired cobra illustrations symbolizing the universe’s dualistic nature. These designs are printed and hand-machine-embroidered on signature Original Snopants®, cargo pants, accessories, and homeware.
Seasonal fabrics include British-made cotton velvet, Japanese cotton sateen, and linen-cotton blends, alongside organic cotton and hemp. These materials are utilized in signature silhouettes like Original Snopants® and kimonos, as well as new variations of functional outerwear and knitwear.
