People Pleaser Salads: Deniz Berdan’s Journey to Revolutionize Healthy Eating

People Pleaser Salads stems from its founder Deniz Berdan’s Mediterranean roots, where the main focus is fresh and healthy food. The brand embodies a bold and flavorful food culture with a mission to create a positive impact on our health and psychology without sacrificing taste. People Pleaser Salads aims to revolutionize healthy food by serving whole, honest, pure foods that make you feel good.

Deniz established People Pleaser Salads after the COVID-19 pandemic and has been growing the brand for the last four years. Collaborating with the incredible illustrator James Lacey, who has previously worked with Bottega and Burberry, they designed People Pleaser’s remarkable logos and illustrations, featuring a character based on their beloved dog Jessy.

Deniz previously published a 10-year healthy nutrition and lifestyle magazine and also operated a diet center. She founded her fashion brand, DB BERDAN, in 2011 and, until the pandemic, presented on-schedule fashion shows at New York Fashion Week and London Fashion Week, launching the brand on ASOS. She has consistently used human rights and LGBTQI rights as themes in her designs, and the brand has been featured in magazines like Forbes.

Deniz Berdan’s core team mostly consists of her family members, each coming from different professions: Deniz herself, formerly a fashion designer, publisher, and pastry/bakery chef; Haluk Berdan, founder of a large logistics company; Begum Berdan, a costume maker for film and TV and sculptor; Asya Duru, who has a background in visual content creation and finance/marketing; and Can Berdan, who studied biomedical sciences.

“It all started with a dream I had for years. The idea of establishing People Pleaser Salads was strengthened by the fact that I was constantly looking for healthy and tasty food in London, but I couldn’t find it fast and affordable.”

At the age of 18, Deniz discovered she had a serious illness affecting her immune system and health. As someone who loves experiencing different tastes, she spent years preparing delicious and healthy food for herself to satisfy her palate while staying healthy. This journey led her to realize the possibility of creating innumerable balanced and delicious bowls that satisfy both the eyes and taste buds.

After her diagnosis, Deniz became a licensed athlete again and was part of the Ford Motor Sport team, racing as a driver several times in the European Rally Championship. Despite her illness, her passion for experiencing different flavors and spices and living an active lifestyle has shaped Deniz into the woman she is today.
