Fall/Winter 2025: Kalighat Stories at London Fashion Week

Aarti Vijay Gupta presented her FW25 collection at London Fashion Week, marking a stunning fusion of ancient traditions and modern design. The event, now concluded, showcased how art and fashion can merge to transform traditional Indian motifs into contemporary style.

This collection was created in collaboration with experts from Kolkata’s renowned Kalighat and Patua traditions. It reinterpreted folklore into signature prints that perfectly captured the intersection of art, culture, and modernity. The designs featured vibrant, Indian-inspired prints on luxury fabrics, using innovative seamless pattern cutting to display continuous artwork without interruption.

Through meticulous research and strong partnerships with Indian artisans, she has built collections that bridge past, present, and future—connecting people with their heritage and reinforcing their cultural identity.

Recognized as one of India’s leading contemporary designers, Aarti Vijay Gupta has earned acclaim for her menswear and womenswear collections since launching her eponymous brand in Mumbai. A graduate of the National Institute of Fashion Technology, she was a finalist for the prestigious CIAE International Fashion Awards, joined the Fashion Design Council of India, and showcased her work on runways in Kolkata, Delhi, and Mumbai. Her achievements include winning the ELLE India Design Visionary of the Year award in 2024, and her brand has dressed top celebrities like Sonam Kapoor and Anushka Sharma.
